My Grandfather served in the Navy in WWI. The surge in naval recruits for WWI, required temporary barracks to be built. Over fifty years later, when I did my Naval training, I was in the same temporary barracks that he was in back in WWI.
He was filled with pride that I was in the Navy and had me pose with his sea bag that he had saved.
On Memorial Day, we remember those who served. The world may never know them, but to their families, they were all the world.

Time Remembered, Times Honored
