Prince Charming

When I was a boy I could never understand what my grandparents meant when they said "they grow up too fast"! I know they have to grow up but I wish it could be slower.

Thumbs Up!

When you see a child smiling, it makes you want to smile too!

Veteran's Day 2015

We got to sing at the Veteran's Day service in Fitchburg. The speaker described where he was when he was informed that his older brother had been shot down over Vietnam in 1968. It was very emotional. Time doesn't heal all wounds. But time will create a scar that will always remind us of our physical pain that we went thru. But emotional wounds can last a lifetime.

Goodbye Summer

We went to the ocean just to say goodbye to summer. It was a sad parting. Janelle said to take a picture of her and Grammy waking ahead to show that summer is in the past.
The symbolism wasn't lost on me. I know lots of people that live in the past.

WWII Fighter Planes

This plane reminded me of the Memphis Belle. The plane told a story of those who had served on it. Their names were listed on the side of the plane. There were bomb markings to identify the number of bombing missions. There were swastikas to identify confirmed kills.

Rambo

Even Rambo was at the air show!

Planes And Peace

The kids were really impressed with the fighter planes from WWII.

Apple Tree Ladders

The ladders for Apple trees are very unique and distinct. They are shaped like a capital A. The point at the top of the ladder allows the ladder to rest in the nook of the tree.

Carmel Apples

It is September in New England, a time when Apple is king! There are so many varieties of Apple's you can pick. There are Carmel Apple's, Apple pies and Apple crisp. It's the best time!

It's the start of a new football season and every young boy has a fantasy of being a major player. The living room and dining room have to serve as training camp. Mom and Dad are sure to understand!

WWII Pill Boxes

This is one of the remaining pill boxes from WWII that were used to defend our coast. This one is on the coast of Bethany, Delaware.

Red sky at night, sailors delight. Tomorrow will be a great day, the sky has said so.

On The Water

Ah... Being on the water, it doesn't get better than this! The ocean breeze blows your cares away and the sun burns your brain until you forget everything.

Dolphins At Night

They are the unicorns of the sea! They like to play dolphin games, chatter at you and swim beside the boat. Fun to watch them!

Directions

If you are in Ocean City Maryland and you want to know how far you have to swim to get to Normandy, France there is a helpful sign for that!

Sand Dune Crossing

I've seen signs for pedestrian crossings but not signs for sand dune crossings. They should install traffic lights for sand dunes!

Batman Lives

Every boy likes Batman. He starred at me when I told him that I liked Batman when I was a boy. Guess it was difficult to grasp that Batman could possibly be that old!

Memories

Vacation is the time to make memories. I don't get much one on one time with my boys, so I seize the moment whenever it is available.

Birthday Card

It was Faith's birthday and Ethan made her this birthday card. He is so smart! This was the outside off the card. On the inside he wrote "which you aren't". I was never this original.

Photos can't capture the energy of an event but hopefully it can convey the mood. A very fun evening that is family appropriate.

Harwich Stroll

Every Wednesday night during the summer there is a stroll along main street in Harwich. Lots of good music, popcorn and air bubbles.i enjoyed listening to a trombone, clarinet and banjo play songs from an earlier American time. They did an amazing job.

Cloning Of Boy And Box

Have you ever given a gift and discovered that the box itself was the real present? Thankfully that didn't happen to me here, but I was reminded that it had happened to me more than once!

Cardboard Boat Finish

This was the final lap for victory. All of the cardboard boats that could still float were going for a winner take all. I can't remember when I have laughed so hard watching the kids paddling cardboard boats!

Cardboard Boats

Great fun at our town beach. There was a cardboard sailboat race. I asked one of the boat owners what the secret was to keeping water out of the boat. Lots of duck tape was his reply!

The PhotoBomb

When the kids were little they went out of there way to please adults. But now they are entering a new phase, where their individuality begins to appear. It doesn't matter to me if they want to make faces because I've seen it all before. I saw their father do it and even I did it as a kid. I understand, it's part of growing up. And I find it amusing!

Rocket Science

Legos are deceivingly simple. They appear to be simple blocks with holes and pegs that you connect one to another. But you soon discover that they require dexterity and planning to build complex structures. Future NASA engineers!

Undesirable

French fries are best enjoyed when they are served fresh and hot. When they become cold, even a kid finds them undesirable. There is no comfort in cold comfort food.
