If you scatter bird seed on the ground to feed the little birds the big birds come to feed on the little birds. Hawks are very smart!

The Looking Glass

There is a lot of down time in a restaurant while waiting for your food. I had to reach deep into my childhood to come up with something to keep him occupied. I told him that everything is larger if you look through a glass of water. And of course he had to see for himself!

The Will To Live

He had an eye infection and I had to take him to the vet. I placed his front paws on top of the rear seat and lifted him up into the rear of the car. Got to the vet and we couldn't get a 100 lb dog that is sitting sideways out of the car. The vet had to climb into the back seat to examine him. He knows his limitations and that he can't jump anymore. His right leg frequently collapses under him. Despite it all, he has an amazing will to live.

I Want To Be Like You

Little brothers look up to their older brothers and want to be like them. If only more older brothers realized this!

When I was a boy we would play cowboys and Indians. Now they play galactic games! I feel like a rotary phone in an Internet world.

Overwhelmed

She has lost so many friends to Alzheimer's. As the little things in life become more difficult her fear is that she is slipping away. Sometimes I forget that the things which are easy for me to do are difficult for her. When I can show her that she did something right it comforts her to know that she is still all right. We all need encouragement in life.
