Stairs For Buddy
I told my friends at Home Depot that I have an old golden retriever, who can't jump up on the bed any more. I told them about my wonderful dog and asked if they could help. They said they understood so they designed and cut a set of stairs in just a few minutes, for about $20. Our pets are only with us for a short time, but in that time they want to spend every minute of that time with us.

Sinking Sand
I told him that if he stood still that when the tide went back out, he would sink lower in the sand. So he stood still and after a few minutes, he looked down at his feet, only he couldn't see his feet, they had disappeared! Then came, "WHY GRAMPY"?
Changing Friends
Even our stuffed animal friends sometimes need our assistance. A portable changing table appears out of nowhere. Loving hands are taking good care of Birdie.

Playground
See all the sand that is on the ground outside of the sandbox? That is from the sand that was thrown at me by the Princess.

Sandbox
If you want to play in the sandbox, it is a good idea to take your shoes off and let the damp sand run between your toes. The sandbox is a place for you to test your creative ideas. Like building a giant dome of sand and stuffing it with pine cones. And then, smashing it to pieces. I want to be there for her first art gallery showing, it will be awesome!

Discovery Museum
Our home is a discovery museum. If I lost anything ten years ago, they can find it in ten minutes. Anything that is in the back of a drawer, will be pulled out and placed in the front. But when they find something new, they have to discover what it is for and how to use it. I learn so much from them.
Clover Power
A beautiful bouquet of clover for Grammy. But then, Grammy likes anything and everything that grandchildren bring her, especially their love.
Flower Picking Contest
I told them that Grammy likes clover. I suggested a contest to see who could pick the most clover for Grammy. They got down and started pulling and picking clover for Grammy. In no time at all, they had picked all of the clover from the rear of my yard. I'll have to remind them how much Grammy likes crabgrass.
Hair You Can Chew
The Princess had her back to me, but I could tell that she was chewing on something. I asked her what it was. That's when she stood up, turned around, looked at me and said "I'm chewing on my hair". Well, that's something I won't be doing with my hair.

Freedom
On the Fourth of July, we celebrate our freedom in the great American tradition of burgers and hot dogs. Grilling was created by our early ancestors, as they grilled over open barbecue pits in their back yards. It is a great American tradition.
The Wayside Inn
We were finally able to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We picked a restaurant that has been around longer than us. It was wonderful to be able to share our anniversary with friends and relatives.
Colonial Lodging
The Wayside Inn is the oldest operating Inn and restaurant in America. Some rooms have been preserved as they would have been in Colonial times. The mattress of the bed is suspended by rope. Colonial sleep engineers developed the first air suspension mattress for a perfect colonial sleep.

Car and Driver
Little boys love trucks, tractors, construction equipment, farm equipment and tools. Anything that involves their hands, they basically like. Keep their hands busy, keep them occupied, keep them challenged and those hands will reach up and give you a big hug.
John Deere Low Rider
The John Deere dealer staff invited Eric to test the equipment. They had tractors big and small, riding lawnmowers, farm utility trucks and thousands of attachments to hook onto the equipment. But when you have been invited to test John Deere equipment, life doesn't get any better for a four year old.
Monkey Wrench
If your tractor needs to be fixed, your John Deere dealer has a wrench for it. But the most impressive was the huge adjustable wrench that was almost as big as Eric. Being the strong guy that he is, it only took two hands to pick it up.
Dear John
Eric thinks that John Deere is awesome! So I had to take him to a John Deere dealer for some real man quality time. Being a grandparent means you've got to deliver the goods on birthday wishes.
