Help From Friends
Kids aren't used to seeing so many candles on a birthday cake. Sensing the need for assistance, they immediately volunteer to help blow the many candles out. We have a custom of wishing people a happy birthday, but we are the ones who have had our lives enriched by them.
Change Of Colors
Kid straws are always very cool. Here we have a yellow straw that changes colors when the drink flows thru it.
Why should kids have all the fun? Adults need coffee cups that change colors as they drink!
One Size Does Not Fit All
I received an assignment to capture a three year old launching for it's prey. It requires deadly accuracy to judge the speed of a swaying straw, coil for the attack, and release it's deadly fangs. The straw never had a chance!

His Watchful Eye
A dog is more than a pet, he is a watchful companion, always protecting his loved ones. If you fall out of the sled, he will bark to make sure the adults are aware. His vision has diminished over the years, so he gives his full attention to the ones in his care.

The Student Teacher
His favorite color is red and there is a little girl at his school who goes out of her way to wear red for him, just to get his attention.
I need to go back to kindergarten and learn what he knows!
A Very Important Day
It was father, son and Grampy day at school. It was a very special moment to be invited into Ethan's school world. He is already learning some of the concepts of division and of decimals.
I remember when I was a boy and I had no father and those father and son moments at school were very awkward and uncomfortable. I am very glad that I could be a part of his big day.

Child Labor
When it comes to snow removal, Grampy is an equal opportunist. In the ice kingdom, even a princess has to dig out.

Cowboy Up
He used to sit in the sled and yell "pull me". And I would pull him up the hill and we would ride down together. Now his son sits in the sled and yells "pull me". A priceless moment!
Catch
Although we age, we still want to do the things that we have always done. Dogs are the same way. He still wants to catch snowballs, but his depth perception isn't the same. But he still prepares himself for the throw and tries to anticipate where it will land. These days, he rarely catches it, but he never gives up trying. And he is always ready for the next one to be thrown.
The Princess Christmas
I noticed how Christmas presents were opened. The box is placed in an upright position. One hand secures the box while the other hand grabs a corner edge. Then with a mighty descending blow of the arm, the gift is striped bare. A lion can't strip it's kill with the same efficiency as a child opening a gift. I see a future PBS grant on this topic.
