The Girl With Kaleidoscope Eyes

A Kaleidoscope is a tube of mirrors containing loose coloured pebbles. The light enters and reflects off the mirrors and displays beautiful sparkly, shiny designs and patterns.

This is what happens when a Little Princess enters your life. She brightens your world with her outlook!

Sharing

Sharing can mean the joint use of a resource or space. It is also the process of dividing and distributing a resource.

Sharing is a learned concept, it doesn't come naturally.

It is a very proud moment to see cousins embody all of these concepts.

Food Triathlon

A triathlon is a multi-sport endurance event, consisting of three events. Those three events are salad, pizza and beverage.

Grandparents must be able to successfully endure all three events.

A disqualification will occur should contestants take the other contestants food, toys or scream at others in the restaurant.

Restaurants are not judged on the quality of their food, but how fast they can bring napkins to the table to clean up spilled drinks.

Handy Eric And Mom

Thankfully, wherever Eric goes, he has his Handy tools with him.

You never know when something needs to be fixed!

It is amazing how much little boys love tools.

Why Pink Is My Favorite Color

A Princess wears pink. From head to toe, from hat to socks, Pink rocks.

Mr Tickles

I really enjoy the creative names that children give to their stuffed animals.

You don't need any sleeping aids and you won't have any sleep disorders with Mr Tickles.

Only pleasant dreams!!

The Domino Theory

Ahh, the things you can do with dominos.

As the stack of dominos goes higher, it begins to wobble back and forth. Screams of "fall down" and "don't fall down" can be heard.

Finally, when you realize it can't go any higher, someone comes forward and blows it all down.

Priceless!!

Little Boys And Airplanes

We read about them in stories. We see them high in the sky. But when they are next to you on the ground and you watch them taxi and takeoff into the sky.

That is a magical experience.

The Curse Of The Plow

Heavy wet snow. The kind of snow that makes you wish you were on an island, on the beach, under a palm tree, watching the tide roll in.

Instead, I have to move mountains of snow and ice.

In New England, this is considered health club membership.

Beds On Wheels

There is a new car at the auto show. It is environmentally friendly. It has zero emmissions. It doesn't use any fossil fuels.

And yet, it can take you anywhere your imagination wants to go.

I wannabe a kid again!

Teamwork

They bring their different skills and interests and together they build and repair everything around the house.

And if it doesn't need fixing, they will break it in order to fix it.

When they aren't here, I enjoy looking at the objects that they have partially fixed. For they themselves are construction in progress.

Professorship Chair

The Princess has received a future endowed Professorship Chair in the Letters.

It is fun to watch grandchildren learn!

A Fallen Hero

Harold Brown died while serving his country. He was from Bolton, MA and attended St John's in Clinton,MA.

Yesterday, he was fondly remembered as he was laid to rest. People lined the funeral procession to pay their last respects. Flags were mounted on every telephone pole along the funeral path.

It is a solemn and tragic reminder, that freedom is not free. And there are those who sacrifice all for us.

Binky And The Train

Eric has to hold on to his food and his binky, as he also assembles railroad tracks. He is a great engineer!

I wonder if multitasking just occurs naturally?

Read To Me

Nothing can compare to reading a story to a child. When they pull out a book and drag it over to you with their little arms reaching out to be picked up.

There are some safety rules to observe for reading. Never bend your head down, or little hands will reach up, grab your glasses, then twist them and pull them off.

Storytellers are the original audiobooks.

Train Mat

Train mats are very clever! You can roll your train over it's painted tracks.

And when you finish, you just roll up the mat. It is simple, inexpensive, transportable, and keeps little engineers BUSY!!
