Buttons for Breakfast

Ethan and Janelle spent the night. Grampy made oatmeal, yogurt and links. But the food that was served up to Grampy was a plate of buttons.

All of my buttons were pushed during the eating process. A lion eating a gazelle doesn't make as much of a mess.

I didn't know that oatmeal is considered a finger food. I also didn't know that food is to be piled mountain high on a spoon. And then that spoon is to be held sideways while the child nibbles slowly at the food. Which then pushes the mountain of food off of the other end of the spoon.

When a child finishes eating, uneaten oatmeal cascades like heavy rain when they stand up.

Princess Protection Program

Buddy is in charge of the Princess Protection Program.

His watchful eye is always on the children.

The Dog Whisperer

Ethan is using food to teach Buddy to shake paw.

How does a child learn how to use food for training and for rewarding?

Napster

I was resting for a moment, when Janelle decided to join me.

It is quite an honor to be selected as a human pillow.

Old Ironsides

Milk is always better when you have someone to share it with.

Buddy takes his lumps and he also gets his lumps. A non cancerous lump was discovered that will soon have to be removed.

Whatever it takes, it takes for Buddy.

The Beall's Rock

For Father's Day, Ethan made me this cool Rock Art.

He took some rocks that he carefully selected then he painted them and glued them on a board.

There is a rock for Grammy, Grampy, Ethan, Eric, Janelle and Buddy.

This is a priceless art treasure!

The Art Of Coloring

When you ask Grampy to color with you and he bends over to look at the coloring page.

That is not the time to reach over and color on Grampy.

The Pink Dress

Before I was enlightened, I didn't know that the color pink is the primary color of all colors.

When a pretty little girl is wearing pink, and walks over to you for a hug, well that makes you feel special.

Green Acres

Exactly three weeks ago I hydroseeded. And now, everything is green.

I agree with Kermit the frog, green is a wonderful color!

Running In The Grass

Why do children smile more than adults?

Why do children laugh more than adults?

It is because they run barefoot thru the grass. Grass stains make us smile and laugh at life.

Flower Power

Janelle likes to look at flowers, pick them, touch them, play with them, and hold them.

Pretty girls and flowers just go together.

No Whey Dude

Jonathan and Darcy came over with their yogurt maker. Darcy came armed with her thermometer, honey, vanilla and starter culture.

We mixed and measured and then threw in whatever we wanted. The result was angry yogurt with an attitude.

This yogurt is so angry that it will smack any bad bacteria right out of your system.

Car Of The Future

The car of the future will not be an electric car. It will not be a hybrid. It will not even be a hydrogen fuel cell.

The car of the future will be powered by a giant hand that will reach down from the heavens and gently push us towards our destination.

The Sandman

Grampy was playing in the sandbox and Eric came to join me.

Isn't life better with a laugh and a smile?

Why We Have Two Hands

There is no need to play with just one toy in a sandbox!

With two hands we can play with two trucks at the same time.

Maybe this is the early development of multi-tasking skills!

The Climb

Eric enjoys climbing jungle gyms. He stands at the bottom, looks up and prepares himself. Then he begins his climb up.

Then comes the moment of sweet victory when he reaches the top. It is a moment to savor and he turns to make sure that Grampy is aware of this great achievement.

And I celebrate his success with him. To achieve your goal is one thing but to not share that accomplishment and joy with someone else would be a lost moment.

Basketball

There were some basketballs that had been left on the courts. Eric saw them and ran over to them. He picked up a ball and went to the foul line to shoot.

Even if you aren't strong enough to throw the ball into the net. Your attitude can make you soar.

One

A one year old Janelle, met a one week old goat.

Unfortunately, there was only one chair for the goat to jump on, and he had only one chance to get away from Janelle.

One way or another, the goat managed to escape!

Shopping With Grampy

Eric went with Grampy to Lowes to pick up a water sprinkler.

Apparently, it took Grampy so long to select a water sprinkler that Eric was ready for a nap.
